Science Students' Council is composed of over forty members of the science community, including elected representatives that serve as your voice within our supporting Faculties, and appointed commissioners responsible for improving your undergraduate experience. We are your link to the University Students' Council, the University Senate and the various departments within the Faculty of Science and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.
The Science Students’ Council is a proud supporter of the Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-away-from-home for out-of-town families of seriously ill or injured children who are in London receiving medical treatment for their child. A small staff with big hearts, complemented by hardworking volunteers sees to it that children and families have the comfort and support they need. They take care of the small things so parents can focus on what is most important – their child.
The Charity Committee organizes monthly visits to the Ronald McDonald House to prepare brunch or dinner for the families as well as organizes programming for the children staying at the house. Students from all faculties are welcome to participate. Group visits to the House foster great bonding experiences and are a great way for Sophs to spend time with their Frosh. Check out the Ronald McDonald House Group Volunteer Form for more information.
The Western Science Students’ Council’s Charity Associate Committee is a group of passionate individuals who work in conjunction with the SSC Charity Committee. The Sub-Committee is provided plenty of opportunities to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald, and raise awareness for The RMH Charity. Additionally, the Sub-Committee is in charge of planning and facilitating a large fundraising event, annually. The Sub-Committee is a very exciting group, as the possibilities for what may be achieved are wide open. For information about how you can get involved, please contact email@example.com
